Turning Vision Into Reality
The annual gathering of CEF workers was truly blest. Hosted by CEF Batangas 1 & 2, it was held at the Darasa Fiesta Resort in Tanauan, Batangas. One hundred three full time workers, volunteers and some committee members came for the conference from January 24 - 28. The theme was “Mentalized for Saturation – Turning Vision Into Reality”.
Featured in the opening program was the 50th anniversary celebration of Mr. and Mrs. Aurelio Llenado, sharing with CEF family the joy of the occasion. Mr. Llenado is the longest termer of the Board officership of CEF Philippines . He is a father to many of the workers.
The conference officially opened with the keynote speaker, Rev Mike Lacanilao, President of Christian Growth Ministries (CGM) who gave a challenging message. Likewise challenging was the report of Asia Pacific Regional Director, Rev Tan Cheng Huat and State of the Mission Address (SOMA) of National Director, Rev Joel Indico. |

It was a joy to have Mr and Mrs Terry Flannigan, administrator of the Specialized Book Ministry which publishes training manuals and visualized doctrinal lessons for children’s workers worldwide. Besides sharing about the Specialized Book Ministry, they also introduced the lesson “Growth – God’s Plan” which is soon to be used in the Elementary School Values Education Class (ESVEC) here in the Philippines. They also had lecture sessions on follow up and prayer. Mr Flannigan spoke in the morning devotions.

A blessing, too, was Rev Tan’s series of messages from the book of Joshua which rounded off the messages he started in the 2005 National Conference in Boracay. He concluded with the challenge of Joshua 24:1 – 28: “It’s Time to Make Up Your Mind” whom to serve -- to serve God and reach the three million children, the goal for this year. A prayer and candlelight ceremony capped up the commitment of the workers.
Rev Tan also had a special session with thirty two local committee members mostly coming for that alone, a real eye opener and encouragement. He lectured on Burnout, Learning Styles and the Post Modern Child.
Despite the full schedule, there was time for relaxation - a tour of the Taal Volcano. Fittingly concluding the conference was the Sunday Worship Service and a celebration of the Lord’s table officiated by Mr Flannigan. Reminding the workers that love for God and the children, ultimately means sacrifice.
Praise the Lord for the moral support shown by the National Board members who came during the opening rites as well as the closing program.
