Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Can a child truly trust Jesus Christ as his/her Savior?

The Lord Jesus Christ teaches that it is possible for a little child to trust Christ and be saved (Matthew 18:6).

  2. At what age can a child trust Jesus Christ as his Savior?

The Bible does not give a specific answer. It is therefore unscriptural to set any age before which it is unlikely or  impossible for a child to be saved.

  3. What is the best age for a child to trust Jesus Christ?

The earlier the better”. Almost all his life is still to be lived.  Many of his habits, and some of his personality, still need to be shaped. What a potential! Not only is a soul saved but  a life is also saved.

  4. Are all children in the Kingdom of God?

There is nowhere in Scripture where we are taught that all children are in the Kingdom of God.  To the contrary, the Bible teaches clearly that all children are spiritually dead, outside of the Kingdom of God, and that they need a Savior. (John 3:3)

  5. Are the children of believers automatically in the Kingdom of God?

There is nothing in Scripture to show us that any child is born into the Kingdom of God, and that includes the children of believer as much as it does the children of unbelievers.

  6. Who should evangelize children?

Everybody  should be ready and available to evangelize children with whom they come into contact – in some simple way. Children are everywhere and everyone is bound to have frequent contact with them.

  7. Did the apostles and the early church evangelize children?

The New Testament makes it clear that the apostles followed and obeyed the command of Jesus Christ in Mark 16:15 “Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature.” They evangelized everybody they could evangelize.

  8. What is the Gospel message for children?

There is no special Gospel message for children which is different from the Gospel message for adults.  There is only one Gospel message, and this message is for everyone.  The methods in presenting it may differ but the message must always remain the same.

  9. I want to reach children with the Gospel.  What can I do? Where do I start?

Attend a training for children’s workers; spend time in prayer and ask God to use you in the lives of the children; work with those who have the same burden and vision as yourself; contact  the CEF office nearest you.

  10. What should I see as the primary goals in my work with the children?

You need to pray that the unsaved children will trust Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior; and you need to pray that the saved children will grow spiritually.

  11. What is the wordless book?  How do you use it when evangelizing children?

The wordless book is a little book with four double pages of different colors Inside a green cover.  The pages are black, red, white and gold, and each color (including the green cover) can be used to teach biblical truths to the  children. It has been proved to be a very effective and attractive tool and an excellent way to present and teach the gospel message.
